Maurya Couvares
Co-Founder and Executive DirectorA new job led Maurya to learn to code, which eventually led to founding ScriptEd. She wanted to build a pathway to the tech economy for students who might not otherwise have the opportunity.
Prior to ScriptEd, Maurya was a middle school teacher in Philadelphia and coordinated volunteer-based after-school programs for NYC high schoolers.
Maurya was named as one of seven millennials “too busy changing the world to take selfies.” She spends her free time training for and competing in triathlons.
Rebecca Novak
Managing Director – Bay AreaRebecca taught special education in San Francisco before helping grow ScriptEd in New York City and later returning to the Bay Area to expand the organization’s programs.
Allen Smith
Director of Finance and OperationsAllen combined his background in finance, teaching, and community service to support STEM education and operations at ScriptEd.
Shane Morris
Director of ProgramsShane previously taught middle school science and worked with Citizen Schools before joining ScriptEd to help students become future innovators and leaders.
